How to qualify

First of all: We don't separate the Future of Disc Golf Summer Camp from Åland Open. If you ar in one, you are in the other. There are several ways to be eligible, but the entire foundation of this project is to create a camp and competition with a broad reach. All juniors are welcome, regardless of your current skills or future ambitions. There will be several ways to secure your spot at Åland in August. One way is to perform well in one of our qualifying tournaments (read about the benefits below), which will be held on a number of high-quality courses both in and outside of Europe (tentatively in May).Additionally, we are working on a model where federations or other organizations will have the opportunity to nominate a specified number of spots within a country or region.

Discussions about this are still ongoing.Do you have a high rating? If so, there will be a registration window where a limited number of spots will be awarded based on PDGA ratings (tentatively in mid-June).No rating? Don’t worry. While we have not yet determined the exact number of participants, our goal isto accommodate as many juniors as possible.

There will be a registration window where all juniors are welcome to sign up (tentatively in late June).

Why you should play a qualifier

If you participate in a qualifying tournament, you’ll have the chance to win a fantastic prize: Free registration for the main event in Åland. The registration fee (likely between €100 and €200) will include much more than just being signed up for the camp and competition. Our goal is for the registration fee to cover all side activities, a player’s package (valued higher than the  fee), simple accommodation (e.g., in a gymnasium or similar), and much more.We hope to finalize these details as early as possible in 2025.Stay tuned by subscribing to our newsletter!
